Per la prima volta nella nella storia della band nessun cambio di formazione sconvolge la line-up, i soliti Ginger Fish, Twiggy Ramirez, John 5 e Pogo accompagnano Manson per tutte le 100 e passa date di un Tour che non è altro che una dichiarazione d'innocenza e un dito puntato verso un paese, l'America, con un disperato bisogno di trovare un capro espiatorio per nascondere i propri errori.

I brani del nuovo album "Holy Wood" si alternano ai cavalli di battaglia tratti da "Antichrist Superstar" e "Mechanical Animals" e a numerose chicche quali "Diary of a Dope Fiend" e "My Monkey".

Tra le highlights presenti nella setlist ci sono sicuramente "In the Shadow of the Valley of Death", suonata spesso durante le date giapponesi, "President Dead", "godeatgod" e "Born Again".

Scenograficamente parlando l'apertura affidata a una versione strumentale di "Count to Six and Die" seguita dall'immortale "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" funziona alla perfezione.

Da questo punto di vista è necessario ricordare le esibizioni di "The Love Song" eseguita sul celebre palchetto da un Manson cosparso di olio dalla testa ai piedi, "Valentine's Day" la cui esecuzione richiama direttamente il Salmo 23 della Bibbia e "Cruci-Fiction in Space" che viene eseguita, grazie all'uso di una piattaforma, a svariati metri d'altezza dal palco rappresentando così le visioni di Daniele contenute nel libro dell'Apocalisse.

I richiami alla Bibbia sono uno dei momenti clou del Tour, non mancano infatti momenti in cui Manson, come nel lontano 1997, leggerà alcuni passi del Libro Sacro al suo pubblico. Celebre, da questo punto di vista, il Live Speech avvenuto a Denver come opening del brano "The Death Song" durante il quale venne letto il Salmo 137 mandando letteralmente la folla in delirio.
A differenza degli altri Tour, il Guns, God & Government World Tour è l'unico distribuito ufficialmente su DVD e VHS.
